So It Begins!

Thanksgiving was great - and no more rich food please! These little cuties were there as well as their parents. Sadly those pictures were on their camera so I'll just share this one! It may look to you like they are grimacing but, in fact, this is smiling with teeth. Perhaps the candid shots are best! Now that Thanksgiving is over the tree must go up! Last year we decided to get smart and buy one that already had the lights on. It worked fine last year but this year - guess what? I spent a frustrating afternoon messing with this monster and the Christmas spirit decided to go elsewhere. I was prepared to huck it onto the front lawn! I guess I'll just have to put more lights on where the gaps are. These pre-lit trees are just great- right!

Although it wasn't much of a first snow it certainly added to the holiday feel!

I absolutley love your farmhouse. I know I had told you that before, but with the dusting of snow, I could just picture myself cuddled up inside!

Ok you just talked me out of getting a pre-lit tree!
I have been tossing around the idea but I like to use different color lights depending on which ornaments I use!

We have a little bit of snow here too! Enough to be pretty but not messy!

Can't wait to see the house decorated for the holidays!

P.S. my grandkids are silly possers too!

Stephanie -- your house is just beautiful -- especially in the snow! I have considered a pre-lit tree, but we still cling to the whole tradition of going to the tree farm and cutting our own.

Great picture of the grandkids -- I think the "smiles" are priceless! :)

Hubby was just telling me about his parents' saga of a pre-lit tree. I feel your pain. :) LOVE the photo of your sweet farmhouse in the first wisp of snow. Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage

Sorry about deleting my original post! I made a boo boo! LOL I sure wish they would let us edit our posts! Anyhoo.........here is what I said.

I have a 9.5 foot pre-lit tree (Big Mama)and LOVE it! I sure wouldn't want to wrap lights around all of those branches. To help with burned out bulbs or a shorted strand we bought the "Light Keeper Pro" that is great for pre-lit trees. You can see a free video demo at: www.lightkeeperpro.com It's not cheap (cost $17.99 at Home Depot) but the hubby has also been fixing all of our icicle lights with it, so I think it will pay for itself in no time.

Love your house with the snow on the ground. Snow is always beautiful to look at, but there is just something special about it when it's a holiday.

The kids are adorable!

Ow Stephanie, your farmhouse is beautiful. I have to say, that light layer of snow makes your yard look very festive.
